Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report:  Hay trades are steady.  Hay demand is 
moderate at best, with most producers feeding less than in years past due 
to mild winter weather.  Fieldwork was once again halted in North, 
Central, and East Texas as rain in excess of 2 inches was reported across 
the already saturated region.  West and South Texas are still very dry.  
According to the Texas Crop and Weather report, rainfall in South Texas 
has been below average since November.  Winter weather blanketed the 
Panhandle again this week, making travel difficult across the region, but 
bringing some much-needed precipitation to the winter wheat crop.
