Weekly Montana Hay Report

Compared to the last week: Alfalfa and Mixed hay sold steady to 10.00 higher on good and 
higher quality, utility and fair hay sold generally steady to firm. Demand was mostly moderate to good this week. Market activity was mostly moderate. Ranchers in central and western Montana continue to purchase high quality hay on good demand as they need this class of hay due to greening grass. Supplies of high quality hay in some locations are very tight in both rounds and squares. Dairy quality hay continues to move at generally steady money, however, supplies are near depleted for the year as several large sales were seen this week. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
