Oklahoma Hay Market Report

Alfalfa trade was slow to moderate. Movement moderate to fairly active from
out of state sources. Demand was mostly moderate. Best interest coming from
feedlots and retail outlets. Dairy demand light to moderate at best. Alfalfa
prices mostly steady to firm. Grass hay demand continues good for good
quality offerings. Colder weather has once again spawned a spike in demand
for grass and wheat hay. Increased local movement throughout central and
eastern Oklahoma is emptying barns for some grass hay sellers.

Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state
and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage
at www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged to call
at 1-405-522-3753 or email jack.carson@ag.ok.gov.
