Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report:  Most hay classes traded steady; except for 
ground alfalfa sold 5.00 lower as it competes with cheaper rations.  
Trade activity and demand were moderate as we start off a new year.  
Variety of hay on the market at this time used to cheapen rations are 
wheat and millet that feedyards are mixing into their rations.  Coastal 
Bermuda delivered to the panhandle stayed steady to firm due to freight 
but preferred for horses or to start calves in feedyards. Prices for hay 
and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
