Week Ending April 14, 2017
Compared to last week alfalfa, grass hay, ground and delivered hay
and dehy alfalfa pellets sold steady. Demand was mostly light this week.
Many producers still have hay available for sale and it appears that they
will carry over a fair amount of hay. Some planting of alfalfa is
underway along with spring tillage. Seed companies have been busy with
delivery of seed. Some rain or snow across the state in the 7 days along
with cold temperatures. Some temps on Tuesday morning were in the mid
20’s causing excess frost on most items it touched. All sales are
dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
