Week ending February 07, 2020
Compared to last week reported hay sales sold steady. Buyer inquiry
was light this week. Many parts of the state received quite a lot of
snow in since last Thursday. Some contacts stated this has been the
snowiest season they can remember for several years. With that said,
outgoing loads of hay has been slow to be moved. Several loads are sold
and just waiting for trucks to come pick up their loads. Most of the hay
is going out of state to horse owners and dairies. Some local buying for
cattlemen to supplement cow herds. “All prices are dollars per ton FOB
the field or hay barn unless otherwise noted.”
