Missouri Weekly Hay Summary

Week ending 1/31/20

The last several weeks have been mostly just a replay of the previous
week. The cycle of winter weather followed by a warmups have farmers
struggling to feed and get around, if it isn’t snow then it’s mud
neither of which are much fun to deal with. Hay movement remains slow,
although feeding is heavy, most farmers still have enough inventory on
hand but that is decreasing each day. The supply of hay is moderate to
heavy, demand is light to moderate, and prices are steady. The Missouri
Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers
and sellers. To be listed, or to view the directory visit
http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay
