Missouri Weekly Hay Summary

Week ending 1/10/20

A big weather maker forecast for the weekend has farmers tying to
prepare. Depending on just how it passes over the state farmers are
being told possibility of anything from several inches of rain to
several inches of snow neither of which are welcomed this time of
year. Hay business continues to be pretty slow with the overall lack
of winter weather thus far into the feeding season. Several producers
would like to move some inventory especially prior to spring but
current overall supplies with in the state are making that difficult.
The supply of hay is moderate to heavy, demand is light to moderate
and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a
hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed,
or to view the directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/
