Week ending 7/10/20
July heat continues to take a toll on the state in the last week the
drought monitor went from showing 11 percent of the state to over 50
percent. There was some rains mid-week in the north half of the state but
the rocks in the southern half continue to dry out and burn more each
day. Farmers have baled a lot of hay this year which if the situation
doesn’t change there will be some feeding that has to take place before
long for some. Hay prices are mostly steady. The supply of hay is
moderate to heavy, and demand is light. The Missouri Department of
Agriculture has a hay directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/
