Week ending July 10, 2020
Compared to last week all reported hay sold fully steady. Demand
improved this week across the state with quite a lot of hay moving in the
western areas. Some hay is going to local cattlemen with other loads
going out of state. Most areas continue to be dry along with a few fires
here and there with only trace of rain in some areas. Some reports that
the irrigation districts across the state have cut some water back or
will cut it back to help keep their water sheds (ponds) at a manageable
level if this dry spell last for a long time. Some producers have started
to on second cutting of alfalfa. Valley video hay auction report from

Eastern Wyoming
Alfalfa: Premium large squares 160.00-180.00; Alfalfa/grass: Premium

Western Wyoming
Alfalfa: Premium large squares 150.00, Good large squares 130.00-140.00.
Premium small squares 210.00. Alfalfa/grass: Good to premium large
squares 180.00. Grass hay: Premium small squares 200.00. Certified weed
