Week ending July 17, 2020
Compared to last week all reported hay sold fully steady. Buyer demand
was good as dry areas have increased in a large area across Wyoming,
western Nebraska, Colorado and other areas. Some of the hay is staying
within few miles of production and other loads are getting shipped a few
states away. Most producers are on second cutting in the eastern side
with some getting finished on first in the western areas. Irrigation is
being applied in a large area as producers are hoping for at least one
maybe two cuttings of hay before the end of the season. NOTE: “All
prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless otherwise
noted.”
