Weekly New Mexico Hay Summary

Week ending July 25, 2020

   Compared to last week, alfalfa hay prices were steady.  Trade and
demand moderate.  The southern and southwestern regions are in their
fourth cutting.  The eastern and southeastern regions are also in
their forth cutting.  North central region are in their 3rd cutting.
Some producers are storing their hay due to lower offers.
Thunderstorms developed across the state cooling temperatures down
10-15 degrees.  Rainfall has been spotty. 

Eastern region:
Alfalfa: Large Square Bales: Premium and Supreme Quality: 190.00 per ton
delivered to dairies.

Alfalfa: Small Square Bales: Premium and Supreme Quality: 8.50-9.00 per
bale.

Wheat Hay: Large Square Bales: 120.00 per ton.

Beardless Wheat Hay: Large Square Bales: Good Quality: 140.00 per ton.

Oat/Alfalfa Mix(80/20): Large Bales: 160.00 per ton

Southeastern regions:

Alfalfa: Large Square Bales: Premium and Supreme Quality: 180.00-200.00
per ton delivered to dairies.

Alfalfa: Small Square Bales: Premium and Supreme Quality: two tie 300.00
per ton.

Southern and Southwestern region:
