Week Ending Dec 20, 2019
Compared to last week dehy pellets sold steady with sun-cured pellets
trading steady to 10.00 higher. Bales of alfalfa, grass hay and ground
and delivered forages sold steady. Buyer inquiry light to moderate for
in-state feeding needs with good demand for hay leaving the state. Most
hay haulers hoping the snow melts and the ground will freeze so they can
continue to move loads of hay from the country to feedlots or other
ranchers. Some areas of the state had a dusting of snow last weekend with
some areas of north central NE receiving 6 to 10 inches. Note: “All
sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise
noted.”
