Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending Dec 13, 2019

   Compared to last week ago all reported forages sold steady. Demand was 
moderate to good with most loads of hay going out of state. Some areas in 
the west reported cold and snowy weather. Quite a few of the reporting 
contacts are sold out and are waiting for trucks to haul the loads of 
hay.  Some producers still have corn to pick in different parts of the 
state. “All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless 
otherwise noted.” 

Eastern Wyoming 
Alfalfa: Good to Premium large squares 167.50. Supreme large rounds 
190.00; Good large rounds 130.00. Straw large squares 70.00-80.00. Sun-
cured alfalfa pellets 15 percent protein 255.00. 
   
Western Wyoming
Alfalfa: Supreme large squares 205.00. Good large squares 160.00-165.00; 
Fair large squares 120.00-125.00. Premium small squares 210.00-250.00. 
Good large rounds 150.00. Alfalfa/grass mix: Premium small squares 
225.00-250.00. Grass hay: Good large rounds 145.00-150.00. Beardless 
barley in large squares 115.00. Certified weed seed free alfalfa cubes 
bulk 235.00-240.00.
