Compared to last week: Alfalfa hay sold fully steady this week on good demand for feeder hay classes. Sales volume continues to be light as buyers are purchasing hay on an as need basis. Supplies of hay continue to tighten. Supplies overall are light but ranchers are still finding hay when needs arise. Grass hay sold on good to very good demand this week. Ranchers looking for hay in rounds have switched to grass as these are easier to find. This has caused prices for grass hay to increase. Grass hay sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher this week. Straw sold steady to 5.00 higher this week as ranchers who saw snow this past week purchased additional loads. The supply of straw is mostly very light across the state. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
