Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report: Most hay classes traded steady on slow to
moderate movement.  Large Bales of Premium to Supreme quality Alfalfa
steady to 5.00 higher.  Dry weather continues to plague the Panhandle
area with several large wildfires being reported this past week.  East
and South Texas producers reported fields greening up as temperatures are
warming and rains have been timely.  New crop hay is on the horizon. 
Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Bales: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 160.00-225.00;
      Good to Premium 145.00-160.00; Fair to Good 125.00-140.00.
   Small Bales: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 297.00, 9.00 per
bale.
   Chopped Alfalfa: Delivered to feedlots: 125.00-135.00. Calf 140.00.
Brown 100.00-115.00.       
   Coastal Bermuda: Large Bales: Delivered: Good to Premium 180.00.
   Wheat Hay: Large Bales: Delivered: 90.00-125.00.
