Missouri Weekly Hay Summary

Week ending 04/07/2017

The Drought rating of D1 or worse improved by near 50% on top of the 20%
improvement last week, leaving only 12% of the state in this rating. Around
85 % of the state however is still listed as abnormally dry. That being
said the heavy rains the last couple of weeks have resulted in a lot of
mud and very little field work being done. Farmers are no doubt appreciative
of the moisture but would like some sunny days now to get back to work. The
supply of hay is moderate, demand is light and prices are steady to weak.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for
both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit
