Compared to last report: Alfalfa sold steady to 5.00 higher due to supply and demand of top end quality hay. Other hay classes remained steady. Most buyers are anticipating new crop hay and prices to be on the market in the next couple weeks. Ground Alfalfa has been difficult to find; some feedyards have switched to ground hay grazer in order to cut costs when possible. Wheat hay and Coastal Bermuda producers are busy preparing for cutting new crop. Rain in the forecast for most of the state this week has pastures in good condition but may delay cutting. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
