Nebraska Hay Summary

Week Ending April 21, 2017

Compared to last week alfalfa, grass hay, ground and delivered hay
and dehy alfalfa pellets sold steady. Demand was light to moderate, just
depending on where one is located within the state. Many producers have
opted not to move 2016 hay at current price levels. But, one wonders
where the producers might pile there 2017 hay as many hay yards, barns
and sheds remain partially full. New seeding of alfalfa is underway and
corn planting has started in many areas. Spotty rain showers along with
some hail has been noted in the last week. All sales are dollars per ton
FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
