Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market

All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.

   Compared to last week:  Alfalfa sales mostly steady, grass hay not tested this week.
Demand continues to be mostly light, with interest picking up a little in the past couple
of weeks although sales are still slow overall.   Many hay producers are sold out for the
year.  The weather forecast has turned to sunshine and 70's for the next week, this is a
big change from the cold and wet weather much of Eastern SD experienced last week.   
All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.

   Alfalfa:   Premium:  Large Squares, 145.00-150.00.  Good:  Large Squares, 135.00.
Utility:  Large Squares, 90.00.

   Sun-cured Alfalfa pellets:  15 pct 145.00; 17 pct 150.00.  Alfalfa
Meal: 17 pct 155.00.

   Alfalfa/Grass Mix:  Premium:  Large Squares, 95.00; few 75.00 per bale.

   Grass:  No Reported Sales.

   Straw:  No Reported Sales.

   Cornstalks:  No Reported Sales.
