Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market

All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.

Compared to last week: Alfalfa sales mostly steady, grass hay no comparable sales.
Demand continues to be mostly light, with interest picking up a little in the past couple
of weeks for grinding quality hay. Corn and soybean planting has been the main focus for
many end-users the past couple of weeks. First cutting alfalfa could be right around the
corner, with some producers thinking they could be opening fields in 7 to 10 days depending
on weather conditions. All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.
