Colorado Hay Report

   Compared to last week, trade activity very light on moderate demand.  The 
bulk of hay movement continues to be on previously committed hay.  Growers in 
southeast Colorado are cutting alfalfa after repeated attempts to control 
aphids.  According to the U.S Drought Monitor Summary for May 15, 2018, 79.51 
percent of the state falls in a D0-D4 Drought Category compared to 18.74 percent 
a year ago.  Of those percentages, 51.14 percent falls into the D2-D4 
categories.  The NASS Colorado Crop progress report for week ending May 13, 
2018, stored feed supplies were rated 9 percent very short, 20 percent short, 70 
percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.  Pasture and range conditions 
percentages are 9 percent Very Poor, 20 percent Poor, 33 percent Fair, and 38 
percent Good.  The next available report will be Thursday, May 24, 2018.  All 
prices reported are FOB at the stack or barn unless otherwise noted.  Prices
