Iowa Hay Summary

Week Ending July 19, 2019
First crop hay has already exited the marke place. Producers who grow hay noted
that more customers were making arrangements to buy the crop out of the field.
Straw was in short supply as oat harvest is lagging in Iowa and wheat harvest
has been hampered by rain. Producers who need straw at this time of year are
moving slowly to rye straw as rye is increasing in Iowa. This past week has been
dry in Iowa with the week ending temperatures pushing into the upper 90s and heat
indices being above 105.

All hay and straw 2019 harvest unless otherwise noted.
