Week ending 7/26/19
A much cooler week of temperatures around the state. The official weather
station in Joplin even tied the record low on Wednesday morning. Several
areas did receive some rain with the front that passed through. Anywhere
from a sprinkle to over 3 inches was reported around the state. Farmers
continue making hay reports of several fields in north Missouri finally
getting cut and in southern Missouri many are cutting grass hay for a
second time in late July which is almost unheard of. That opens up the
possibility for a 3rd cutting of grass when fall growth comes. Hay
supplies are moderate, demand is moderate. Hay prices are mostly steady.
