Week ending 4/03/20
Almost hard to believe it is now April, following some severe storms last
weekend that saw some areas of the state getting some very damaging hail
the weather seems to try to straighten up a bit. A lot of fertilizer has
finally been spread in the last week and finding a buggy to rent became
somewhat difficult. There was even a small amount of field work done in
some of the far northern parts of the state, but producers had to really
pick and choose what fields they pulled into. Hay season is officially
under way as reports from several southern states of hay cutting taking
place. The supply of hay is moderate, demand is light, and prices are
steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory
available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or to view the
directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay
