Compared to the last week: All classes of hay sold steady. Demand was light
to moderate again this week. Market activity was mostly slow. Hay continues
to move from previous sales. Very few new sales occurred this week. Ranchers
and dairies are nervous about current market conditions and are reluctant to
buy hay. Limited sales were on an as need basis. Supplies remain light for high
quality hay in squares, light to moderate for feeder quality hay in squares
and moderate to heavy for all hay in rounds. All prices are dollars per ton
and FOB unless otherwise noted.
