Week ending 07/28/2017 It seems as if the triple digit heat index might finally be gone for a while. Some areas of the state mainly along I-70 saw moderate to heavy rains this past week as a couple of storms hammered the KC area and moved east across the state. Thursday’s rain was more wide spread but as of this report rain totals are still being added too. A big chunk of the state in the south central region and few counties in far north central are currently most in need of some moisture according to the latest drought monitor and reports from local farmers. Hay movement is light, supplies are moderate, demand is light and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay http://agebb.missouri.edu/haylst/ (All prices f.o.b. and per ton unless specified and on most recent reported sales price listed as round bales based generally on 5x6 bales with weights of approximately 1200-1500 lbs).
