Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report:  All hay classes traded fully steady on light
to moderate movement. Dairies and feedyards in the panhandle continued to
buy on an as needed basis and most pastures are in good condition
although we have been hot and dry this week.  Coastal Bermuda producers
in east, north and south Texas are busy in the hay fields when afternoon
showers allows them to cut and bale.  Livestock are in good condition as
well as the pastures.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except
where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 175.00-230.00;
Good to Premium 160.00-175.00.
Small Bales: Delivered: Good to Premium 231.00-288.75, 7.00-8.75 per
bale.
   Ground Alfalfa: Delivered to feedlots: 145.00-150.00. Calf 150.00. 
Brown 110.00-115.00.
   Coastal Bermuda: Large Rounds: Delivered: Good to Premium 180.00.
   Wheat Hay: Large Bales: Delivered: Bearded 104.00-125.00; Beardless
     130.00-135.00.
   Hay Grazer: Large Bales: Delivered: 90.00-100.00.
