Compared to last week: Reported sales continue to be light, as hay producers are focused on getting 2nd cutting alfalfa finished up and working on grass hay. The US Drought monitor released on July 4th, shows no increase in the total percentage of the state affected to some degree by drought conditions (near 91 percent), however the area in Extreme Drought doubled to over 4 percent. The areas of Extreme Drought are currently along North Dakota border and in the north-central area along the Missouri River. All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.
