Week Ending Friday December 01, 2017 For this week: Hay prices were sharply higher with a firm undertone. Iowa farmers had desirable weather for field work this week as harvest winds down. Most producers spent time tiling, applying fertilizer, and hauling grain. D1-D4 drought conditions remained steady at 6.70% this week. Looking forward to this coming week winter seems to hit hard with highs in the high 20's to low 30's and low temperatures in the upper teens. According to NASS 96% of corn has been harvested, 8 days behind 5-year average. Moisture content of corn being harvested averaged 17%. Only southwest and south central Iowa have over 5% of their corn left to harvest. Prices are dollars per ton.
