Week ending 8/23/19
A pretty typical August week in the state. Temperatures were very hot and there
was some storms around providing rain in areas. It seems as if farmers are finally
giving hay equipment a break and many have parked things in the shed for the year.
Still likely to be some fall cutting later, but most everyone has baled plenty of
hay for their needs this year. Pasture and water supplies are not a concern and in
much better shape than usual for this time of year. The Hay supplies are moderate,
demand is moderate. Hay prices are steady to weak. The Missouri Department of
