Week Ending Aug 16, 2019
Compared to last week all reported forages sold steady. Buyer inquiry
was light. Most areas of the state are in good shape for moisture but
some areas across the state are in need of some moisture. Most cuttings
of alfalfa are roughly three weeks behind a “normal” year. High humidity
continues to plaque most of the state as it takes a long time for hay to
dry down to be baled. Note: “All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field
or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.”
