Week ending 6/26/20
The rains forecasted for the last week failed to fall for most areas.
There was some pockets and spots that received some downpours but nothing
widespread. According to the latest crop progress report hay harvest is
slightly ahead of the five-year average which isn’t a big surprise to
anyone given the unusually long window of decent weather over the last
month. Farmers are glad to be able to get work done and although the
drought monitor looks mostly blank for the state there are some thinking
a nice inch of rain sure wouldn’t hurt nothing. hay movement is mostly
slow but there is some hay being sold out of the fields around the state
as many farmers are bailing more than they know they will need for winter
feeding. Hay prices are mostly steady. The supply of hay is moderate to
heavy, and demand is light. The Missouri Department
