Week Ending June 26, 2020
Compared to last week, all reported forages sold steady, except ground
and delivered hay in the west sold 10.00 lower. Several reports of out of
state buyer inquiry on the calls this week. Several states to the south
and west of Nebraska are dry along with some areas of this state. Reports
that there is a good amount of carry over hay in some regions. It may not
be top quality but it will be really good grinding hay. Some contacts
stated there are several acres of new alfalfa seeding/oats across the
state. With some of the oats getting cut and baled. Along with triticale
and wheat have been baled with some wheatlage going to the pit. Some of
the operators are getting ready to start on second cutting of alfalfa as
they like to be on the 28-32 day cycle between cuttings. Note: “All
sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise
noted.”
