Week Ending Friday, November 03, 2017 For this week: Hay prices were slightly higher. Straw was in demand as producers were Iowa farmers continued to have mostly desirable weather for field work this week, spending most of their time harvesting corn and soybeans, tilling, and spreading manure per (NASS). Due to the lack of parcipitation this week there were no decreases in drought conditions. D1-D4 drought conditions remained steady this week at 5.96%. Looking forward to next week this highs will continue in the 40's with lows in the high 20's. According to NASS 44% of corn has been harvested, over two weeks behind average. Corn condition increased to 66% being reported in good to excellent condition. 61% of the soybean crop has been harvested. Southwest, south central, and south east Iowa still has a third or more of their soybean crop to harvest.
