Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report:  All hay classes traded steady except for 
Alfalfa sold steady to 5.00 higher.  Demand increased to good as buyers 
stock up for winter months.  The variety of hay on the market has 
decreased as most wheat hay and other types have been contracted out.  
Coastal Bermuda producers in the east and south remained hard at work 
getting the last cutting of the year out of the fields.  Supplemental 
feeding in those areas has not started yet but buyers beginning to show 
interest in stocking up.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton 
except where noted.
