Week Ending November 17, 2017 Compared to last week large square bales of alfalfa going to dairies sold steady to 10.00 higher; round bales of alfalfa sold fully steady; grass hay, dehy pellets and ground and delivered hay sold steady. Many producers continue with fall harvest. Quite a lot of farmers are baling cornstalks to help clean up fields that have excessive amounts of ear corn and loose corn left in the field. Dairy producers are starting to load up on hay and it has added a little price surge in some of the trade areas. All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted. Eastern/Central Nebraska Alfalfa: Premium large square bales 150.00-175.00. Good large square bales 150.00. Good to premium large round bales 110.00. Good large round 75.00-85.00. Grass Hay: Premium large round bales 85.00-90.00; Good large round bales 80.00- 85.00; fair large rounds 60.00-70.00. Premium small square bales of prairie hay 150.00. Cornstalk bales with ear corn 60.00 delivered. Soybean stubble round bales 45.00. Ground and delivered alfalfa 115.00. Dehy Alfalfa pellets 17 percent protein 195.00-210.00.
