Week Ending Thursday, November 09, 2017 For this week: Hay prices continued slightly higher. Iowa farmers had desirable weather for field work this week, spending most of their time drying and hauling grain, baling corn stalks, and applying manure per (NASS). No major changes were made in Iowa drought conditions as subnormal temperatures helped to mitigate the lack of precipitation. D1-D4 drought conditions remained steady this week at 5.96%. Looking forward to this weekend cool weather remains with high's in the 30's. Next week temperatures slightly increase with high's in the low 50's and low's in the mid to high 30's. According to NASS 67% of corn has been harvested, 9 days behind average. Moisture content of corn being harvested averaged 17%. 92% of the soybean crop has been harvested, three days behind last year and six days behind the 5 year average.
