Week ending August 24, 2018 Compared to last week baled hay and pellets sold unevenly steady. Demand was moderate to good with steady movement. Most of the state continues to look green for this time of year and many producers aren’t concerned right now about procuring hay for their winter needs, although rangelands are starting to get dry which presents a fire hazard. According to the NASS Wyoming Crop Progress and Condition report, 2nd cutting alfalfa is 84% harvested across the state. Smoky conditions are presenting a concern for producers with livestock.
