Compared to the last week: All classes of hay sold mostly steady to
10.00 lower. Mild weather continued this week and producers with excess
hay left to sell dropped prices to move larger quantities. High quality
hay in squares sold generally steady, however very light movement was
seen. Supplies of high quality hay in squares remain tight. "Feeder
quality" hay supplies in squares remains moderate. Hay supplies in rounds
remain heavy. Mild weather continues to pressure this class of hay.
Ranchers continue to buy hay on an as need basis, however sales have been
light due to low hay usage. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless
otherwise noted.
