Compared to the last week: All classes of hay sold generally steady.
Extreme cold and snow will make its way into the state this weekend
and early next week dropping upwards of a foot of snow in the north
and lighter amounts in the southern portions of the state. This is much
needed moisture for lower elevations. Mild weather and a mostly open
winter have kept hay usage light. Supplies of feeder hay remain
moderate in squares and heavy in rounds. Ranchers continue to buy hay
on an as need basis, however sales continue to be light this week. All
prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
