Compared to last week, prices were mostly steady. Activity and demand moderate in all classes. Growers are reporting that moisture has hindered harvest of hay and thus has decreased movement throughout the state. The NASS Colorado Crop Progress and Condition report for the week ending October 1, 2017 states that pasture and Range conditions were rated 1 percent very poor, 13 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 46 percent good, and 15 percent excellent. Alfalfa crop condition was rated 8 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 61 percent good, and 7 percent excellent. Alfalfa third cutting is 90 percent complete and fourth cutting is 29 percent complete.
