Compared to last week: Hay prices sold fully steady. Hay market activity this week was mostly moderate. Producers continue to struggle to put up 3rd cutting, as cool nights and shorter days make drying difficult. Large quantities of straw were sold this week as cattlemen ready themselves for winter. Many loads of hay moved into northern Montana this week as cattlemen are still reeling from the effects of the first snowstorm of the year. Limited hay sales in eastern Montana continue to sale on very good demand as local offerings are extremely light. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
