Compared to last week: Hay prices sold steady to 5.00 lower. Hay market activity this week was slow. Buyers in the central portion of the state showed a willingness to move larger quantities of hay this week at slightly lower prices. Demand for high quality 3rd cutting remains good. Lower hay prices from surrounding states continues to pressure hay locally. 3rd cutting hay continues to be put up in the western portions of the state as well as higher elevations, however progress has slowed with rain and snow seen in many locations. Grass hay sold steady this week on mostly moderate to good demand and light supplies. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
