Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market

All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.

   Compared to last week:  All classes of hay continuing to hold at mostly steady
price levels.  Demand moderate at best for alfalfa and grass hay.  Interest has picked
up the past week, however many end users are being very selective in the quality of hay
they want to purchase.  The main focus this week has been on getting caught up with soybean
and corn harvest after the large rainfalls early in the month created delays.  All hay and
straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.

   Alfalfa:  Supreme:  Large Squares, 170.00.  Good:  Large Squares, 150.00-160.00.  
Fair:  Large Squares, 60.00 per bale; Large Rounds, 120.00-125.00.  Utility to Fair:
Large Rounds, 100.00.

   Sun-cured Alfalfa pellets:  15 pct 165.00; 17 pct 170.00.  Alfalfa Meal: 17 
pct 175.00.

   Alfalfa/Grass Mix:  Premium:  Large Squares, 150.00.  Good:  Large Squares,
60.00 per bale.

   Grass:  Premium:  Small Squares, 5.00 per bale.  Good:  Large Squares, 60.00
per bale.  Fair:  Large Rounds, 100.00. 

   Wheat Straw:  Large Squares, 110.00.  

   Bean Straw:  Large Squares, 52.50.  Large Rounds, 60.00.

   Cornstalks:  No Reported Sales.
