Missouri Weekly Hay Summary

Week ending 10/13/2017

Conditions improved ever so slightly this week but still over 60 percent of
the state is showing in the drought monitor with several in the southern parts
of the state now becoming somewhat concerned about low stock water supplies as
winter draws near. Harvest and any field work was delayed as there was enough
moisture in grain areas to bring equipment to a stop. Most haying is over for
the year now and that equipment has been put in the shed. Hay supplies are
moderate, demand is light and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of
Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be
listed, or for a directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for
listings of hay http://agebb.missouri.edu/haylst/ (All prices f.o.b. and per ton
