Demand was good to very good on mostly light to moderate
supplies and active market activity. Hay prices are deeply
divided based on FOB location, with lower prices seen in
Western Montana and higher prices seen closer to the
drought stricken areas of Eastern Montana. Grass hay sold
steady to mostly 5.00 higher on good to very good demand
for light supplies. Market activity for all hay and grass
this week was moderate to active. While price spreads for
hay are very wide, delivered hay prices remain fairly tight
ranging mostly from 180.00-200.00 delivered. All prices are
dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
