Week Ending June 8th, 2018 For this week: Both hay and straw continued to be scarce across the sate this week. Prices for most qualities of hay were steady to firm, except grass hay where prices slid lower as quality declined. Some alfalfa/grass mixes were approaching three feet tall by the time it was cut. Although the product was steamy, leaf presence was abundant. Typical for first cutting hay, most was baled as large rounds or larg squares. Small square were absent but pastures had developed allowing livestock producers to push their animals towards grazing. Straw was limited across the state. Alfalfa Supreme Large Squares $250.00 - $300.00 Premium Large Squares $190.00 - $205.00 Alfalfa/Grass Premium Large Squares $190.00 - $205.00 Good Large Squares $145.00 - $190.00 Large Rounds $155.00 - $170.00 Grass Fair Large Squares $100.00 - $135.00 Large Rounds $125.00 - $145.00 Utility Large Rounds $55.00 - $125.00
