Week Ending June 15, 2018 Compared to last week new crop baled hay too lightly tested for a market comparison, dehy pellets sold steady. Bales of old crop hay and ground and delivered hay sold steady on a light test. Most producers have stated they are putting up first cutting and should go directly into their second cutting and are getting several inquiries for new crop hay. Most producers are perplexed on where to price their “newly” baled hay. Most of the dairy hay is at a 1.00 per point of “RFV” (Relative Feed Value) and the grinding type hay is lower than that on early sales. All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
