Week ending 06/08/2018 Haying continues to be going in full swing as producers try to get hay up around chances of pop up showers. Most producers are reporting yields of 20-30 percent less than normal as growing conditions were not favorable for large production. Although there has been some pop up showers and even heavy rains in some areas most remain short on moisture. Nearly all of the state north of the Missouri river are listed as abnormally dry to severe drought status on the latest monitor. There has been some hay being sold out of the field although many producers are reluctant to sale any until they manage to get some put back into barns to rebuild their own supplies. Wheat harvest is just starting in SE MO. supplies are light to moderate, demand is moderate and prices are steady.
